every day should be a birthday
every moment is a renewal a rebirth
of what had existed just a moment before

if another "man" lets you down
just remember
he wasn't there when you had the courage
to stand up to the one who beat you down
literally, figuratively, spiritually, mentally, actually

if there is someone who makes you feel anything less
just remember
they didn't matter 10 years ago
and they won't matter 10 years from now

it's the power you carry
the truth that you hold within
that is the source of all that keeps you moving
keeps your blood moving
keeps you alive

they never mattered before
so why should they now

we go through moments
that only live in the moment they occur
but afterwards just a ghost of a memory
they don't exist after

so take this slice of time
make it yours

because in reality
that's all it really is
your choice to enjoy it
or to weep over what has passed

today is a new beginning
right now is a new life
every moment
